Welcome to our website.  We are an Associated Support Group (ASG) of the United Ostomy Association of America, a 501 c(3) non profit support group for persons who have had, or are considering, ostomy surgery of any type.  An ostomy refers to a surgically created opening in the body that allows for the discharge of bodily wastes, the most common being colostomy, ileostomy, and urostomy.  Our purpose is to assist in the rehabilitation of the ostomate through education, encouragement, and practical advice on living with an ostomy. However, we do not take the place of your medical team.  Our role is to pick up where the doctors and
nurses leave off,
…..after you go home
…..and feel so alone.

We want you to know that you are not alone, and show you ways to improve the quality of your new life.  No one has to know about your ostomy unless you want to tell them. We know that many people do not want to share this information, and that is OK.  But an ostomy does not have to be a disability.  There are many successful, even famous, people out there living with an ostomy.

As the Home Depot says, “You can do it….we can help.”
